Fan Q&A with Jeanine Mason

QUESTION: Do you have any advice for aspiring dancers?

JEANINE: Find a teacher or mentor, who really believes in you and will push you. Fall in love with working hard. The earlier you recognize that it's not going to be easy and that you're going to have to give it your all, the quicker you will start to see your results.

QUESTION: If you ever won a Golden Globe, who would be the first person you'd thank?

JEANINE: My sister! She's here right now! She's like my other half. A lot of people ask us if we're twins because we look so much alike. Technically we're not, but essentially we are because we have always been inseparable!

QUESTION: Hi Jeanine, have you ever thought about performing on Broadway--like Sutton Foster? If so, are there any shows that have your dream roles?

JEANINE: Yes, definitely! Since I was little, my interest in taking dance questions and voice lessons and acting spawned from me being in New York when I was eleven and saw my first show, Phantom of the Opera. I would honestly be up for anything, but I would like to do theatre more than a musical right now. Something that's really going to challenge me.

QUESTION: I read that you won a writing competition, would you ever want to pursue a career in writing?

JEANINE: Yes, I did! The cool thing about that experience was that I was just very inspired by the prompt. I was just sort of amazed when I was recognized for my writing. I was excited that if I applied myself, something could happen. I don't plan to pursue it anymore because my focus is acting, but it really inspired me!

QUESTION: Hi Jeanine, I recently started following you on twitter and I think you're great! What do you like about social media and being able to connect with fans with it?

JEANINE: I love being able to share little pieces of my life and make people aware of my interests and passions and give inspirational tidbits. And following people I admire, it makes them more human and makes me realize I can do this. And I like that my followers can get to know me. I consider them more my friends than anything else. QUESTION: Did you ever watch Gilmore Girls?

JEANINE: Oh, yes! I LOVE Gilmore Girls. I still put it on whenever it's on. It makes me feel like I'm home and relaxed. I love the mother and daughter relationship, all the little quirkinesses of the small town! I have to always tell myself to not fan girl right now. And then I think that maybe I should become a friend of any of the Bunheads guest stars, who were on Gilmore Girls. And then later be like, "Oh, my god, I love you!"
