“SOS,” I texted my aunt. “Be there in ten,” she messaged back.

 

“There you are!” Shouted Haskell, out of breath.

 

“I really don’t want to hear it, Haskell.”

 

“Listen, when we were dating, Scarlett saw me looking this place up and thought it was for her. But I really always wanted to take you here. It was right before I told you how I really felt, and I couldn’t wait.” It was so creepy…and yet weirdly sweet that I decided to cancel the SOS and enjoyed a majorly delicious dinner.

 

When I got home, I realized that I needed to make a choice between Haskell and Aidan. Maybe my aunt would have some advice for me. “Did he pay for dinner?” My aunt asked.

 

“Duh,” I confirmed.

 

“I’ve taught you well, Lennox. You should keep that one.”
