It's never easy to make new friends in high school. Everyone seems to know each other already, social circles have been established, and all too often people are just plain mean to those they don't know. But for Kathy it's even harder, because not only is she new to the school, she's also pregnant.
Amy understands how important it is for Kathy to make friends. Even though she had Ben when she was pregnant, much like how Kathy has gotten closer with Ethan, she knows she couldn't have done it without the support of friends like Madison and Lauren. But the girls Kathy has become "friends" with are especially catty and mean, so Amy isn't convinced these are the right friends for Kathy. Amy's sick of girls gossiping about each other behind their backs, calling each other sluts, and making fun of each other in such hurtful ways.
It may seem fun to be included when you're the one gossiping and laughing, but if you're the target of such behavior it can feel awful. Have you ever been the victim of a rumor or gossip? Are girls mean to each other at your school? How does it make you feel when you hear girls being judgmental and mean to each other? Tell us what you think!
