Character Bio

Dr. Fields is Ricky's therapist, and his open, nonjudgmental style usually allows Ricky to talk about whatever's on his mind. Dr. Fields always knows when Ricky needs someone to tell it like it is, even if the boy doesn't want to hear it. Still, even level-headed Dr. Fields got kind of steamed when Ricky was after his daughter, Lauren Treacy (aka Amy's sometime BFF). But now that Ricky's all about being a mature dad who doesn't chase girls, Dr. Fields is there to help.

Actor Bio

As Dr. Ken Fields on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Ernie's great at saving Ricky from himself. Back in the 1980s, Ernie was keeping New York safe from the supernatural as Winston in Ghostbusters. Since then, he's had recurring roles on Oz and Desperate Housewives, and he appears in the 2009 movie Dragonball Evolution (rated PG) with Justin Chatwin and Jamie Chung of Samurai Girl. He's really busy. Look for him in the movies Lonely Street (R), Pastor Brown (PG-13), Balancing the Books (with Mark Derwin, aka George Juergens of Secret Life), and Machete Joe (both not yet rated). He's in the DVD Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball (R), and he plays a general in two episodes of the TV series Meteor (which also features Paola Turbay, aka Adrian's mom, Cindy, on Secret Life). A Michigan native, Ernie got his master's degree in theater from the prestigious Yale School of Drama.
